As Alaskans are aware, the PFD Division will begin rolling out the 2020 PFDs on July 1st. With that, there is much work to be done!
How can Alaskans help?
We are asking for patience. Currently, our technicians are working diligently on the eligibility determinations for Alaskans. The same technicians who work eligibility also answer phones, therefore we have had to reduce phone resources to steadily determine eligibility. Because of this, we ask that you please refrain from calling the division at this time. The division is currently training temporary staff to assist with a call center. These staff will be able to answer general questions from the public, but will not be training on Eligibility specifics.
What do I do if I’m currently “Undetermined”?
It will be normal for many Alaskans to have submitted all necessary information and be in an “Undetermined” status until a technician is able to review that case. If you are currently “Undetermined” and you have submitted all your paperwork, please do not re-submit. This means that a technician has not had a chance to review your case. If you are currently “Undetermined” and do not know what else is needed, you will receive a Request for Information letter from the division providing 30 days from the date of that letter, to submit any necessary paperwork. This could arrive via e-mail or USPS. If you have access to myPFD, check your account for more specifics on what the division needs to determine your eligibility. You will find information in your “Document Center” tab. Documents are processed in the order they are received.
What if I don’t get paid in July?
We anticipate the ability to pay 90% of Alaskans by the July 1st payment run. This leaves roughly 100,000 Alaskans left who will need to be determined. Those who were not in an eligible status by June 19th, which is the cut off to make the July 1st payment run, will still have an opportunity to be paid in later runs throughout the year. The following payment run will occur on July 23rd, another on August 20th, and every third Thursday of each month thereafter. Are there any extensions for submitting paperwork?
The division is aware of delays in Alaskan’s abilities to receive required documentation. Ie: Education Verification forms, medical paperwork, etc. Because of this, we are providing extensions to those who communicate this need to us. This communication can be provided via the division general e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where can I submit paperwork?
Although all three physical locations are closed to the public, we have secure drop boxes located in each location. Each drop box is emptied daily.
What is different about this year?
Due to the economic impact of COVID on Alaskans, the Governor’s office and the PFD Division have worked together to begin paying out Eligible 2020 dividends beginning in July instead waiting to begin in October.
