It's that time of year when students head off to school. We have a couple examples of situations that may occur when it comes to leaving for school in assisting eligibility determination for the next dividend year.
1. Student is attending their classes FULLY online, with no hope of needing to physically attend classes. In this case, the student should remain in Alaska abiding by the 180 day rule.
2. Student is attending classes FULLY online, but might be called back to class at any point. In this case, we would imagine it to be reasonable that the student resides in the city where their school is located.
3. Student is attending classes PARTIALLY online, possibly due to labs that need to be attended in person. We find it reasonable that this student resides in the city where their school is located.

Our mission is to administer the permanent fund dividend program assuring that all eligible Alaskans receive timely dividends, fraud is prosecuted, and all internal and external stakeholders are treated with respect.
